The City of West Liberty’s Council/Manager form of government is a system founded on the balance between the policy-setting functions of the five-member City Council, the Mayor, and the management expertise of an appointed City Manager.
City Council members are each elected by City residents to serve for four-year terms and the Mayor every two-years.
To assist the city council in their duties there are numerous commissions, committees, and task forces which operate to address needs and trends identified by city staff and the community.
The City Council meetings are held every First and Third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. The Council meetings are located at City Hall in the Council Chambers at the 101 E Fourth St. entrance. The City Council Agenda’s are posted 24 hours prior to the Council Meetings at City Hall and Council Chamber entrances.
