Water/Sewer Operator
The City of West Liberty has an opening for a Water/Sewer Operator. This position is full-time (40 hours per week- with possible overtime) and includes benefits. This position performs all duties of a meter reader/laborer. The Water/Sewer Operator will operate equipment and perform construction and maintenance on the water distribution system such as: repairing water main breaks, flushing and replacing fire hydrants, painting fire hydrants, and installing meters in new buildings. This position will also perform pump station and alarm system inspections. Knowledge of Iowa One Calls is important for this position.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Applicants must possess a valid Iowa Class B Commercial Driver’s license with tanker and air brakes endorsements and have a good driving record for the past three years. Applicants shall obtain their Class A Commercial Driver’s License within one (1) year of hire. Applicants shall obtain a Grade I Water Treatment Plant and Distribution Certification issued by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources within one (1) year of hire. Applicants should expect to be available for off-hour emergencies, meetings, and work assignments. Previous public works experience is preferred, but not required. Paramedic and/or AEMT
The City of West Liberty, Fire/Ambulance Department is looking for a PART TIME PARAMEDIC and/or AEMT
Shifts consist of flexible hours day, night, weekends, and holidays.
Pay range for AEMT is $15-20 based on experience.
Pay range for Paramedic is $20-25 based on experience.
Works under the general supervision of EMS Coordinator in performance of EMS and related duties. Works under the supervision of Fire Department Officers within the scope of the incident command system and at the scene of emergency incidents.
Requirements: High School Graduate or equivalent required. At least One Year of emergency medical service work. Must possess current BLS certifications. Paramedics must also possess current ACLS certifications. Certified PARAMEDIC or AEMT in the State of Iowa with valid Driver’s License (obtain a Class D in 6 months of hire) and must be insurable by the City. HIPAA training required within orientation. Must pass a physical exam and pre-employment background check. Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred, but not required.
