Certified Police Officer
The City of West Liberty, IA, population 3,800 is currently accepting applications for Full-Time Certified Police Officers as well as Part-Time Certified Police Officers. ILEA Certified Officers are preferred, but not required. Bilingual Officers are preferred, but not required. The West Liberty Police Department takes great pride in a community policing environment, with strong community support. West Liberty is a smaller agency with a less stressful call volume. This allows for more time to engage with the community and be active in our local schools. The West Liberty Police Department has recently updated equipment to include updated patrol vehicles, cameras, and tasers. With a progressive facial hair, tattoo policy, and officer preference on duty gear including outer vest carriers, the West Liberty Police Department is an ideal place to be employed.
A Police Officer patrols by car and on foot to prevent crime and enforce laws; conducts investigations and writes reports; interrogates witnesses, investigates accidents and obtains and records measurements. This position requires the ability to work with a diverse community and build relationships with the community served. Qualified candidates must be able to problem solve with the utmost respect for human rights and dignity and be able to express oneself clearly and concisely both orally and written. Lifeguard
The City of West Liberty is seeking individuals to serve as Lifeguards for the 2025 Pool Season. The Lifeguard is responsible for protecting the lives of those utilizing the Municipal Swimming Pool. May have to provide emergency rescues and additional duties may include maintaining facility equipment and cleaning duties as assigned.
Applicants must be at least 15 years of age. Must have American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid and American Red Cross CPR/AED for the professional rescuer Certifications. Preferred experience is 1 year of experience as a lifeguard for a public swimming pool operation and the American Red Cross (WSI) Water Safety Certification.
