Paramedic

Full Time

The City of West Liberty, Fire/Ambulance Department is looking for a full-time Paramedic

Schedule: Full-time position consists of 8-hour shifts, day, night, weekends, and holidays. Pay range is $20 – $24 per hour based on experience. Works under the general supervision of Fire Chief or designee in performance of EMS and related duties. Works under the supervision of Fire Department Officers within the scope of the incident command system and at the scene of emergency incidents.

Requirements: High School Graduate or equivalent required. At least 2 Years of emergency medical service work. Certified Paramedic in the State of Iowa with valid ACLS/CPR Healthcare Provider, PALS preferred, valid Driver’s License (Class D Endorsement 3) and must be insurable by the City. EVOS (emergency vehicle operator safety) course required within one year. NIMS ICS 100, 200 and 700 required within 3 months. HIPAA training required within orientation. Must pass a physical exam and pre-employment background check. Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred, but not required.

Certified Police Officer

Full Time

The City of West Liberty, Iowa, population approximately 3,800 is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Certified Police Officer.

*Minimum Standards for hiring: High school graduate or equivalent. Must have valid, State of Iowa driver’s license with no record of suspension or revocation in any state. Applicant must meet department’s physical standards.
ILEA certified officers are preferred, but not required.

Starting salary is dependent upon individual qualifications. Lifeguard

The City of West Liberty is looking for Lifeguards for the 2022 summer season as at the Kimberly Park Pool.

Lifeguards are responsible for protecting the lives of those utilizing the Municipal Swimming Pool. They may have to provide emergency rescues. additional duties include maintaining facility equipment and cleaning duties as assigned. They work under the Head Lifeguard, Pool Manager, Parks and Recreation Director.
