The City Administration Building currently has heat throughout the building. However, consistent heat is required for a facility to be open to the public as a warming shelter and due to boiler system maintenance we are unable to guarantee consistent heat at this time. However, we do want to do the best we can to notify what we can do at this time.
Emergency Use Only:
Fire, EMS, and the West Liberty Police Department have been notified that in an immediate emergency, the City Administration Building may be used temporarily to assist with warming needs until other resources are available.
This location is not approved for long‑term or overnight stays.
If there is a larger emergency, such as a widespread power outage, the City will work with Muscatine County Emergency Management to provide appropriate emergency shelter services.
