How long have you lived in West Liberty?
1 Year.
What part of serving on Council are you the most excited for/have you enjoyed the most?
This is a very progressive and friendly community. Serving as Mayor gives me an opportunity to encourage and promote those qualities for everyone who lives here.
What challenges are you most inspired to tackle in the coming year?
We are going to grow as a community. Planning for housing, community expansion, and providing supportive services are what I’m inspired to tackle.
What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not working?
First, I was going to say bicycling. It’s been a passion all my life. However, the truth is my soon-to-be 21 month old granddaughter. She’s the absolute joy of my life.
What is something you would like the community to know about you?
I’m amazed at all the different experiences: being a father, being a foster father, being a grandfather, serving for 20 years in the Iowa House of Representatives, meeting Presidents of the United States, having served as a mental health technician following the attack on the World Trade Center, having a 50 year social work career, and so many other activities that have made this a wonderful life.
